Britain says it will provide more than 10,000 drones to Ukraine to help the country fight Russia's invasion.
Defence Secretary Grant Shapps announced the military assistance during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Thursday.
The British government says the unmanned aerial vehicles to be provided include first-person view drones, which enable the operator to see real-time footage as if they are on board, and surveillance drones.
The government will spend 325 million pounds, or 416 million dollars, for supplying the drones.
Shapps said in a statement, "I am ramping up our commitment to arm Ukraine with cutting-edge new drones coming directly from the UK's world-leading defence industries."
He also said, "I was pleased to be able to offer my firm reassurance to President Zelenskyy on the UK's unwavering commitment to the brave people and military forces of Ukraine."
The Ukrainian military are already deploying first-person view drones in the battlefield and they have become a key weapon for attacking Russian troops.
The British government says these drones allow the operator the ability to finely control their movements in real time and have been successfully used to bypass Russian air defenses to hit their targets.
