5th foreigner dies after Bangkok hotel fire NHK

A fire at a hotel in Thailand has claimed its fifth victim. All the dead are foreigners. The blaze erupted on December 29 at a six-story hotel near Bangkok's entertainment district of Khao San.

Officials said a Japanese woman in her 30s who was staying at the hotel died on Sunday. A male Japanese guest died Wednesday. A Brazilian, an American and a Ukrainian also lost their lives.

Local authorities believe the fire broke out in a room on the fifth floor and are investigating the cause.
