A woman and her parents in Japan have been indicted in a case involving a headless body that was found in a hotel in Sapporo City in the country's northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido. Prosecutors indicted the three family members after they had undergone psychiatric evaluations for about six months through February. They determined the three people can be held criminally responsible. On Wednesday, 30-year-old Tamura Runa, her 60-year-old father Tamura Osamu, and her 61-year-old mother Tamura Hiroko were indicted. Runa was indicted over murder and abandonment of the body. Prosecutors allege that Runa fatally stabbed a man in his 60s with a knife at a hotel in Susukino, an entertainment district in Sapporo, in July last year. Runa allegedly removed his head and brought it back home. Her father Osamu was charged with aiding in the murder and disposal of the corpse. Prosecutors allege that Osamu bought a knife and a suitcase in advance and drove his daughter to the hotel on the day of the murder. He also shot videos of the victim's head in the bathroom of their home, as requested by Runa. Her mother Hiroko was charged with aiding with the disposal of the corpse. She allegedly allowed Runa to hide the head in the bathroom. Prosecutors decided against charging the parents with murder. Prosecutors have not unveiled whether the defendants admitted to the charges. Investigators and lawyers say the three denied the allegations or remained silent.
