The head of US semiconductor giant Nvidia has indicated that his company will accelerate cooperation with major Japanese cell phone carrier SoftBank.
The two firms have been developing technologies for AI data processing using cellular base stations, rather than data centers.
Nvidia President and CEO Jensen Huang was speaking at a company event in Tokyo.
He said: "Every industry, every company, every country must produce your own AI. A new industrial revolution."
He later talked with SoftBank Group Chairman and CEO Son Masayoshi.
Son said a connected intelligence network can become "one big neural brain" for the infrastructure intelligence of Japan.
Nvidia has a large share of the global AI chip market, while SoftBank sees AI as a major pillar for its business growth.
