The Emperor turned 63 on Thursday. This is the first time he has delivered a public birthday greeting since he ascended the throne in 2019.

Emperor Naruhito expressed his gratitude to the people for celebrating his birthday in the first public event since his enthronement.
He also expressed his sincere sympathies to people affected by heavy snow in winter.
The Emperor said he feels spring gradually approaching, and hopes that everyone can enjoy peaceful days in the coming warm season.
