The Malaysian transport minister has suggested that the government will consider resuming the search for the Malaysia Airlines plane that went missing almost 10 years ago. Flight MH370 carrying 239 people vanished from radar over the South China Sea while heading from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing on March 8, 2014. The Malaysian government and others searched for the aircraft. But they only found part of it. The search was discontinued without determining the cause of the incident. It is often described as the biggest mystery in aviation history. Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook attended a rally of the families of people who were on board, among others, held near Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. He said the government has received a proposal from a US maritime exploration firm to search for the plane. He added, "I will do everything possible to get the Cabinet's approval to sign a new contract" with the firm to resume the search "as soon as possible." Grace Nathan, whose mother was on board the plane, called for the resumption. She said "we still don't know what happened to the plane" a decade later. She also said: "MH370 is not history. It's the future of aviation safety."
