A South Korean province has announced that it will send 100,000 dollars in donations to Japan's Ishikawa Prefecture, which was hit by the fatal New Year's Day earthquake. North Jeolla Province has friendship ties with the Japanese prefecture where the heavily affected Noto Peninsula is located. North Jeolla governor, Kim Kwan-young, reportedly told Ishikawa Governor Hase Hiroshi over the phone on Tuesday that he prays with people in his province for a quick restoration of the affected areas. Kim also expressed hope that people in Ishikawa Prefecture will soon regain peaceful daily lives. South Korea's southeastern city of Busan has already affirmed a plan to send 100,000 dollars in donations to Japan. The South Korean government also has announced it will provide 3 million dollars in humanitarian aid for Japan's recovery efforts from the quake.
