The Japan International Cooperation Agency has organized a Tokyo event to help introduce local firms to prospective business partners in Ukraine. The goal is to identify opportunities in reconstruction projects in the war-torn country. Ukrainian companies are attending the three-day event, along with more than 30 Japanese businesses and organizations showcasing products and technologies. One consulting firm based in Tokyo says it aims to offer services in infrastructure development in Ukraine. Hino Koki, Executive Advisor of Padeco said, "The IT industry and startups are very active in Ukraine and the country has many young and talented engineers. We hope to be a mediator between them and Japanese companies." A precision machinery maker from Nagano is also attending and displaying its emergency water purifiers for use in Ukraine. The event runs through Saturday and precedes a government-sponsored conference on Monday focused on rebuilding Ukraine's economy.
