People in Hong Kong were finally able to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with the traditional &quot;fire dragon dance&quot; after a four-year hiatus.
                
The annual dragon dance event has a history of more than 100 years. It was originally believed that the dance would ward off plagues, but it has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
                
The event began on Friday night. Festival-goers inserted numerous incense sticks on the 20-meter dragon, which consists of a head frame and a long body wrapped with straw. Dozens of people ran through the street carrying the dragon, sending smoke and sparks throughout the area.
                
The full moon added to the enjoyment. This mid-autumn event is a welcome occasion in the city for family members and relatives to meet.
                
A resident in the neighborhood said everyone was happy about the resumption of the dragon dance. One young man said he was very glad that all his relatives could finally get together.
