Japanese musician Yoshiki says he has donated 500,000 dollars to support people affected by the recent massive wildfires in Los Angeles. A statement released by his non-profit organization, Yoshiki Foundation America, says the musician gave to seven entities. They include the American Red Cross and a charity run by the Recording Academy, which is the organizer of the Grammy Awards. Yoshiki said, "I have lived in Los Angeles for almost 30 years, and it breaks my heart and gives me severe depression to see the city burning like this." He added, "I'm praying for all those who have suffered from this tragedy." The wildfires inflicted extensive damage in the Los Angeles suburbs, with the number of confirmed deaths reaching 29. All the fires had been extinguished by the end of January. Recovery efforts are expected to move into full gear from now.
