Tesla reports record revenue, profit in latest quarter NHK

US electric vehicle maker Tesla says it pulled in record revenue and profit in its latest quarterly earnings report as sales soared.

The EV giant says it sold more than 400,000 vehicles in the 3 months through December 2022, which is up more than 30 percent from a year ago.

Revenue increased 37 percent to more than 24 billion dollars. Net profit rose almost 60 percent to nearly 3.7 billion dollars.

Tesla sounded a cautious note though, saying it was unclear how economic uncertainty and rising interest rates would impact the firm in the near term.

The company said it is racing to reduce costs in preparation for a possible economic slowdown.
