Japan's health ministry says it confirmed 7,537 new cases of the coronavirus in Tokyo on Monday. The figure is down 891 from a week ago. The daily tally has marked a decrease for 6 straight days. The number of seriously ill patients who are on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines is 45, unchanged from the day before. The ministry also confirmed 25 deaths. Nationwide, 76,264 new cases and 208 deaths have been confirmed. The total number of fatalities from coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 57,721.
