Japan's transport minister says he expects Runway C of Tokyo's Haneda Airport will likely reopen on Monday.
The runway has been closed since a collision between a passenger plane and a Coast Guard aircraft on Tuesday.
Saito Tetsuo told reporters on Friday that workers are now removing the burned planes. He added his ministry will continue doing its best to restart operations on the runway by Monday.
Saito pointed out that Haneda's flight capacity currently stands at about 70 percent of the level before the accident. He said the figure is expected to reach about 90 to 100 percent when Runway C is reopened.
The minister said he believes the number of flight cancellations will decline.
