A: Hey there! Did you hear about that creepy news? B: No, what's up? A: Well, a 31-year-old Japanese guy named Saito Jun is accused of murdering a girl from seven years ago! B: Whoa, that's serious! What happened to her? A: They found her dead body at his place in Saitama Prefecture back in 2018. He was sent to the prosecutors just this Wednesday. B: Ugh, poor girl... Was he someone she knew well? A: Apparently, they met through social media! B: That's so weird... Did he tell the police why he did it? A: Yeah, he said he wanted to kill someone since he was a kid. But he thought it was too risky to be a random killer, you know? B: So he picked someone who looked like they were suicidal? That's terrible! A: Exactly! He even made her write a fake suicide note. Can you believe that? B: Unbelievable... And the police found what looks like a suicide note, right? A: Yes, and he also tossed away her smartphone to avoid getting caught. B: That guy is one sneaky dude... I hope they catch him soon! ---------------- A Japanese man who has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman who went missing seven years ago has reportedly told investigators he gave up on the idea of killing someone randomly and instead looked for a suicidal target. Saito Jun, who is now 31 years old, is accused of killing a 21-year-old woman from Ibaraki Prefecture at his home in Saitama Prefecture in January 2018. He was sent to prosecutors on Wednesday. Saito apparently became acquainted with the woman through social media. NHK has learned that he told police that he had wanted to kill someone since he was a child. He said he thought of becoming a random killer, but he said he gave up on the idea because the risk of getting caught was too high. Instead, he decided to look for someone with suicidal thoughts. Saito added that he thought the police would not look into a case of a suicidal individual in any detail, and that was convenient for him because his desire was to kill. He said he even made his victim write a suicide note. Police have found what appears to be a suicide note apparently written by the woman. Saito has also told the police he threw away the woman's smartphone. The police believe the suspect did this to avoid capture.
