At least 29 killed in Mexico bus crash NHK

A bus crash in a gully in southern Mexico has killed at least 29 people, including a one-year-old, and injured about 20.

AP and other news agencies say the bus veered off a road in the state of Oaxaca and into the 25-meter-deep gully on Wednesday morning.

Footage of the site shows a damaged guardrail and the bus, without its roof, lying at the bottom of the gully.

Details of the cause of the accident are unclear, but an Oaxaca official reportedly said the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle.

One of the passengers said the bus experienced trouble but continued traveling after a check. He added that its brakes apparently did not work.
