Zelensky flees White House after being kicked out by furious Donald Trump Jeremiah Hassel Donald Trump kicked Volodymyr Zelensky out of the White House on Friday after an explosive meeting between the two presidents. Zelensky was seen rushing out of the executive residence and ducking into a vehicle waiting for him before rushing out. A joint press conference between both leaders scheduled for later in the day was canceled. Shortly after the explosive meeting, Trump said Zelensky is "not ready for Peace if America is involved" in negotiations to end the war in Ukraine in a Truth Social post. Donald Trump said Volodymyr Zelensky is "not ready for Peace" after an explosive White House meeting between the presidents on Friday "We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today. Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure," Trump began. "It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelensky is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations," he continued. The minerals deal between both countries, which was slated to be the subject of the hour, appears to have collapsed, too, with Trump concluding his Truth Social post by writing, "I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace." The explosive conversation that preceded the Truth Social post took place on Friday afternoon as the two leaders lobbed jabs at each other, with Trump and Vice President JD Vance calling Zelensky "disrespectful." "You bring them on a propaganda tour, Mr. President. Do you disagree that you have problems bringing people into your military?" Vance stated, cutting Zelensky off as he attempted to discuss the war. "Right now, you guys are going around and forcing conscripts on the front lines because you have manpower problems," Vance continued. "Do you think that it's respectful to come to the Oval Office in the United States of America and attack the administration that's trying to prevent the destruction of your country?" JD Vance also laid into Zelensky during the explosive meeting At one point, Zelensky referenced the Atlantic Ocean, which separates Europe from the U.S. He said it's also currently separating the U.S. from the issues of the war but said they would come soon. "Don't tell us what we're going to feel. You're in no position to dictate what we're going to feel. You're right now not in a very good position," Trump said. "You don't have the cards right now. You're gambling with World War III, and what you're doing is very disrespectful to this country." During a different point of the meeting, Trump stated, "Your country is in big trouble. You are not winning this." He added that there's an "attitudes" problem as he said, "The attitudes have to change." If they don't, he said, "It's going to be very hard to do business like this." "You are not acting at all thankful — and that's not a nice thing," the president added as he told Zelensky to sign a deal or "we are out." Vance later asked Zelensky, "Have you said 'thank you' once?" Zelensky replied that he had several times, including many times that day. Tensions had already been high between the leaders, with Trump penning in a different Truth Social rant about two weeks ago that Zelensky is a "Dictator without Elections." Zelensky clapped back at the time and said Trump lives in a "disinformation bubble." The meeting came just a day after Trump met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss the war in Ukraine and other topics. French President Emmanuel Macron met with Trump at the White House earlier in the week.
