A senior Russian diplomat says Russia is ready for high-level contact with the United States. This comes amid reports that US President Donald Trump has spoken over the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on ending the war in Ukraine. Asked on Sunday whether he's had a conversation with Putin, Trump said: "I've had it. Let's just say I've had it." Trump also said he would meet with Putin at an appropriate time. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told reporters on Monday that the communication channels between Russia and the US are working. He said there was not yet any agreement on contacts at high or political levels, but that Russia is ready. Ryabkov said Russia is ready to discuss settling the conflict in Ukraine, but that it should be discussed on an equal basis.
