The Israeli military has mounted more airstrikes on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. A Palestinian media outlet reports that Israeli warplanes attacked a five-story residential building in northern Gaza on Sunday, killing more than 50 people.

The air raid followed another deadly Israeli strike, also in northern Gaza, on the previous day. The strike left at least 10 individuals dead at a school run by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, known as UNRWA. The building was sheltering displaced people at the time of the strike.

Health officials in Gaza say the death toll from Israeli attacks in the enclave has reached 43,846 since October 7 last year.

The Israeli military says it conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah command centers and additional "terrorist" infrastructure in Lebanon's capital, Beirut, on Sunday.

Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera reported on Sunday that Israeli forces had struck a neighborhood near the "administrative heart" of Beirut, killing a Hezbollah media relations officer.

The United States relayed a ceasefire proposal to Lebanon on Thursday to halt the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. Lebanese media reported that the government would respond to the draft within days of its receipt.

But it remains unclear whether a ceasefire will take place in Lebanon amid Israel's continued attacks.
