A: Hey, Katsu-chan! Did you hear about the news?
   B: No, what's up?

A: Well, the guy who shot Shinzo Abe and other crimes apologized in court to his family! Can you believe it?

B: Really? That's the first time, huh? What did he say exactly?

A: Yeah, he admitted that he killed him but told the defense he doesn't hold any grudges against the family, including the widow. He said they must have been devastated for three years because of it.

B: Wow, so what was his motive then?

A: He mentioned something about revenge for his brother and other family members, as well as people affected by that religious group everyone's talking about. But he also said it was wrong that Abe had to die.

B: So the trial is still going on?

A: Yup! They're discussing punishment now. The hearings will end later this month, and then they'll decide on his sentence.

B: That must be tough for Abe's widow... She attended the hearing recently but not yesterday.

A: Exactly, it's a heavy topic. But yeah, that's the latest! It's sad but it seems like we need to keep watching this case unfold.
