North Korea's state-run media has reported that leader Kim Jong Un inspected the training of army special operation units on Friday.
Korean Central Television reported on Saturday that Kim visited the training base of the units of the Korean People's Army. It said that the training was aimed at keeping pace with the changing trend of modern warfare and preparing all combatants to carry out their tasks under any combat situation.
Kim reportedly emphasized that the core objective in building an army is to make it a strong force in which all the officers and men fight shoulder to shoulder with common purpose.
The report said Kim indicated a series of important measures to be taken to achieve a high degree of special operations capability.
Meanwhile, the only mention in North Korean media of the dismissal of South Korea's President Yoon Suk-yeol from office has been the citation of foreign media reports.
South Korea's public broadcaster KBS aired the view that Pyongyang has been distancing itself from Seoul since it declared inter-Korean relations to be those of two "hostile" states.
