North Korea fired cruise missiles, says S.Korea military NHK

South Korea's military says North Korea fired cruise missiles eastward on Wednesday morning.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missiles were launched near Hamhung in South Hamgyong Province at around 10:15 a.m. local time on Wednesday.

US and South Korean forces are holding regular joint military exercises from March 13 through 23, simulating a contingency on the Korean Peninsula.

In an apparent protest, North Korea launched an ICBM-class Hwasong-17 missile last Thursday.
