1. In the latest NHK poll, 52% of respondents have expectations for the newly elected LDP leader, Takaichi Sanae, while 44% do not. The top reasons given for having expectations include her being the first female LDP leader (18%) and her political ideology (21%).

2. The poll reveals that high prices (43%) is the most pressing issue respondents want Takaichi to address as her top priority, followed by money and politics (16%) and social security and the declining birthrate (14%).

3. Regarding coalition partners for the LDP, 37% of respondents believe there is no need for one, while 19% favor the Democratic Party for the People. The Constitutional Democratic Party has been seeking cooperation to field a unified candidate for the next Diet election; however, 52% of respondents are undecided or cannot say either way about this cooperation.
