NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has revealed that the organization is in talks with the Japanese government to open a liaison office in Tokyo. Stoltenberg said in an interview with CNN on Wednesday that Japan is a very close and important partner for NATO. He also stressed that NATO needs to "step up" its partnership with its Indo-Pacific partners, with Russia and China in mind.
