Israeli security forces have clashed with Palestinians during a raid in the West Bank, killing 10 Palestinians, including civilians, and wounding more than 400 others.
                
The clashes occurred in the Palestinian city of Nablus on Wednesday. Israeli troops were carrying out what they called a large-scale counterterrorism operation against armed Palestinians.
                
The Palestinian health ministry said 102 people were taken to medical institutions. Local Red Cross officials said more than 480 were injured.
                
The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas condemned the raid in a statement.
                
It said the group is monitoring the enemy&#039;s escalating crimes against Palestinians and is &quot;running out of patience.&quot;
                
The violence is the latest in a series of deadly clashes and shootings between Israelis and Palestinians in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
                
Tensions could further escalate, as the Israeli government announced a plan earlier this month to expand Jewish settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, which would violate international law.
                
The United States has expressed opposition to the move.
