Hamas videos show militants infiltrating on land, from the air and sea NHK

Recent videos released on social media by the armed wing of Hamas, Al-Qassam Brigades, show how the militants broke into Israel.

The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas launched a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip at around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday local time.

Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, said more than 5,000 rockets were fired, while Israel claimed there were more than 2,200.

The surprise assault was combined with Hamas fighters infiltrating the Israeli side.

One video shows the fighters flying over a concrete wall that divides the two sides using motorized paragliders. The wall was erected by Israel.

Another video apparently shows a large explosion at the border wall and fighters storming through the Erez checkpoint amid a fierce gun battle at the facility.

Footage released on Sunday shows Hamas fighters on board a boat advancing possibly at sea.

Israeli authorities say about 1,000 Palestinian militants have infiltrated into Israel, and some ambushed people at a music festival near the border and killed 260 of them. The officials say some Israeli soldiers and civilians have been taken into Gaza as hostages.

Hamas claims that the group holds more than 100 people in captivity.
