Two men have turned themselves into police and confessed to groping a popular female disk jockey at a music event earlier this month in Osaka, western Japan.

The harassment against DJ Soda from South Korea occurred on August 13. Police say the two men, both aged 20, voluntarily visited a police station in Osaka Prefecture on Monday. They are a part-time worker from Osaka Prefecture and a university student from Fukuoka Prefecture.

Osaka police believe the two men are among the three people against whom the event's organizer filed criminal complaints earlier on Monday on suspicion of indecency without consent and assault. Police investigators have been questioning them on a voluntary basis. The third person accused is a woman who remains at large.

Sources close to the investigation say both men admitted to touching the performer's breasts and grabbing and pulling her arms.

But they are said to have denied doing so with obscene intentions or to harm DJ Soda.

The part-time worker reportedly told investigators that the audience was excited and had their arms extended, and he was also enthusiastic about touching DJ Soda. He said it was fan mentality.

The university student allegedly explained that he wanted to mimic those around him who were touching DJ Soda, so he put his hand out and ended up touching the area around her breast.

Police plan to analyze video footage taken at the time and continue their investigation.
