US President Donald Trump is meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House. They are expected to sign an agreement that will give the United States access to Ukraine's natural resources.



Trump has described the deal as "historic," and says it will make the two sides "major" partners.



He says the United States will have access to minerals and rare-earths, as well as oil and gas.



Trump expressed a willingness to achieve an early ceasefire in Ukraine's fight against Russia.



He had previously called Zelenskyy a "dictator without elections", while praising Russian President Vladimir Putin. But now he says that he expects their relationship will improve.
