An executive of Japan's main ruling party will visit Taiwan next week for talks with leaders. The Liberal Democratic Party announced on Friday that its policy chief Hagiuda Koichi will be there for three days from Monday. Hagiuda will hold talks in Taipei and attend a ceremony and a parade to mark Double Tenth Day. Taiwan considers October 10 as its national day. In the southern city of Kaohsiung, Hagiuda is to deliver a speech on security at a college and visit a statue of former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo. The bronze statue was erected with donations from local residents after Abe was shot dead in July last year in Japan. It will be the second time in two months for an LDP executive to visit Taiwan. LDP Vice President and former Prime Minister Aso Taro traveled to Taiwan in August. Hagiuda's visit could draw a protest from China.
