US space agency NASA says its new unmanned Orion spacecraft is on its way to the moon, after separating from a rocket. NASA's new moon rocket, the Space Launch System, blasted off from the US state of Florida early on Wednesday. The launch was delayed more than 40 minutes due to a hydrogen fuel leak. NASA says Orion has separated from the SLS as scheduled and is now traveling to the moon. The spacecraft will conduct a test flight that will last about 25 days. During that time, it will orbit around the moon and then return to Earth. The SLS has been newly developed for the Artemis program, an international lunar exploration project. Two small spacecraft developed by Japan were also on board the SLS. The probes will conduct observations and experiments on the moon and around it.
