A: Hey there! Have you seen the news about social media usage in the U.S. recently?
   B: Nope, I haven't. What's up?

A: Well, it turns out that X is still dominating the smaller market of short text post apps. They're used by almost a fifth of U.S. adults!
   B: Wow, that's pretty impressive! But what about those new services like Threads, Bluesky, and others?

A: Well, while they've been growing since Elon Musk bought Twitter, many have shut down already. As for these new guys, only a small percentage of U.S. adults are using them compared to X.
   B: Hmm, that sounds tough for the competition. What about Meta's Threads?

A: Yeah, even with all their resources and power, they haven't been able to beat X yet. Only 8% of U.S. adults are using Threads compared to X's 21%.
   B: That's really surprising! And how about Bluesky?

A: It attracts even fewer users - only 4% of U.S. adults use it. Truth Social, another competitor, has attracted 3%.
   B: I see. X must have a strong grip on the market then.

A: That's right! Despite competition, X hasn't seen much of a slip in usage over the years.
   B: That's interesting. So which platforms are more popular among U.S. adults besides X?

A: YouTube and Facebook are still the most widely used with 84% and 71% respectively. Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Reddit, and Snapchat follow closely. Many of these services have seen their adoption grow over time.
   B: I wonder if it's different for U.S. teens.

A: Yeah, the figures look quite different when it comes to teen social media use. YouTube is still No. 1, but TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat are more popular among teens.
