Tokyo COVID cases rise to 10,454 on Sunday NHK

Japan's health ministry said it confirmed 10,454 new cases of coronavirus in Tokyo on Sunday. The figure is up 108 from a week ago.

The ministry also reported 16 deaths in the capital.

It said 20 patients were seriously ill on ventilators or ECMO heart lung machines. The number was unchanged from the previous day.

Nationwide, authorities reported 89,566 new infections and 151 deaths on Sunday.
