The National Assembly in South Korea has approved the impeachment motion of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.
The decision was announced by assembly speaker Woo Won-shik on Friday. He says 192 lawmakers voted in favor of impeachment.
But ruling party lawmakers reportedly boycotted the vote. They claim the motion must be approved by over 200 lawmakers, or two-thirds of the assembly.
The motion was filed to the assembly on Thursday after Han refused to appoint new justices to the Constitutional Court.
Han has served as acting president since President Yoon Suk-yeol was suspended from his duties after his own impeachment.
