The right wing of a taxiing Japan Airlines jet struck the tail of a Delta Air Lines plane at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in the western US state of Washington on Wednesday. No injuries were reported. The US Federal Aviation Administration says it will investigate the incident. The airport said a taxiing JAL aircraft appears to have struck the tail of a parked Delta aircraft. It added that it "is working with both airlines to safely deplane passengers and bring them to the terminal." JAL says none of the 185 passengers and crew members on board Flight 68 was injured. The plane had arrived from Japan's Narita Airport. A video posted on X shows the edge of the right wing of the JAL plane impaling the tail of the nearby Delta plane. A passenger on the Delta plane wrote, "We were parked and then felt a big skid!" The passenger added that the JAL plane "sliced through our rudder with their right wing edge! Everyone is safe physically but overheard people being a little shaken up." The Seattle Times quoted the FAA as saying the aircraft were in an area that is not under air traffic control.
