Japan's Princess Kako, the second daughter of Crown Prince and Princess Akishino, will visit Peru in November to mark 150 years of diplomatic relations between the countries. Princess Kako will tour the South American nation for 10 days starting on November 1. It will be her second official overseas trip. Japan and Peru signed a commerce and navigation treaty in 1873. Princess Kako will meet Peruvian President Dina Boluarte in the capital Lima. She will attend a welcome lunch and a ceremony to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The princess will meet people of Japanese descent and visit a school for children with hearing impairments. She also plans to visit the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Cusco, southern Peru. Officials are expected to tell her about the ways in which Japanese immigrants helped the local villages develop.
