German 'super strike' paralyzes nation's transport network NHK

Most of Germany's transport network is at a standstill as workers strike over pay.

It's one of the country's largest ever. More than 2.5 million airport and expressway workers are jointly striking with another nationwide union of railway and transport workers.

On Monday, members began a large-scale 24-hour work stoppage. Media are calling it a "super strike." They are reporting that millions of passengers who depend on buses and trains may be affected.
