US President Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of seeking a third term, saying in a media interview there are &quot;methods&quot; to make it possible.
        
                    
                  
NBC News described Trump&#039;s remarks in the phone interview on Sunday as &quot;some of his most extensive comments to date about serving a third term.&quot;
        
                    
                  
The US Constitution prohibits anyone from being elected to the office of the president more than twice. Amending the two-term limit requires overcoming significant hurdles.
        
                    
                  
NBC asked if he had been presented with plans to allow him to seek a third term. Trump replied, &quot;There are methods which you could do it.&quot;
        
                    
                  
When asked whether one such method might involve Vice President JD Vance running for president and then passing on the role to Trump after winning, he responded, &quot;that&#039;s one,&quot; and added, &quot;there are others too.&quot;
        
                    
                  
Trump said a lot of people want him to hold office for a third term. He added, &quot;But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go,&quot; because it&#039;s still early in his administration.
