US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has expressed his intention of urging Israel to do more to prevent civilian casualties in Gaza when he visits the country later this week.
Blinken spoke to reporters on Sunday after holding talks with key figures in Jordan and Qatar.
He said, "Far too many Palestinians, innocent Palestinians, have already been killed." He said it is imperative that Israel do more to protect civilians and that will be "one focus of my conversations" during his visit to the country.
The number of deaths in Gaza has recently been exceeding 100 a day, as Israeli forces have been stepping up their offensive.
