Japan's Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru has reaffirmed the country's "unwavering" commitment to supporting Ukraine.



Participating in a summit meeting hosted by Ukraine via video link, Ishiba denounced the ongoing Russian attack on Ukraine.



Ishiba described Russia's invasion of Ukraine as a reckless action that shakes the foundations of international order. He said any attempt to change the status quo by force cannot be tolerated anywhere in the world.



Ishiba expressed hope for an end to the war through diplomatic efforts. He also stressed the need to bring a just and lasting peace to Ukraine, with Kyiv involved in the process.



Ishiba said Japan remains committed to continuing support for Ukrainians. He said his country will work together with Ukraine until peace returns to its beautiful land.
