Japan's health ministry said it confirmed 32,459 new cases of the coronavirus and 188 deaths from the virus nationwide on Sunday. In Tokyo, the number of new infections was 2,287, down 1,140 from a week ago. That marked the 19th straight day of week-on-week declines. The ministry also confirmed 18 deaths from the virus in the capital, up one from Saturday.
