The Japanese government will give emergency humanitarian aid worth 10 million dollars to residents in the Gaza Strip, amid worsening humanitarian conditions in the enclave. Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko said on Tuesday Japan will continue diplomatic efforts, so that innocent residents will be able to access relief supplies including food and water, as well as medical treatments. Kamikawa said the aid will be provided through international organizations. She also said Special Envoy for the Middle East Peace Uemura Tsukasa will visit Egypt, Jordan and Qatar from Tuesday to Sunday for meetings with government officials. The envoy will discuss ways to de-escalate the conflict between Israel and the militant group Hamas.
