Media: Hamas to submit second hostage list on Friday NHK

An Arab media outlet has quoted a senior Hamas official as saying that the Islamic group will submit on Friday a list of four Israeli hostages to be freed the following day in the second batch.

Under a six-week ceasefire that began on Sunday, Hamas is to release a total of 33 hostages in small groups each week, while Israel will free Palestinian prisoners. The second hostage release is scheduled for Saturday.

Israeli media reports that the country's authorities are expected to receive the list on Friday afternoon, local time.

The ceasefire started nearly three hours later than scheduled because Hamas delayed the submission of a list of the first three hostages to be freed.

No major clashes have been reported since the ceasefire took effect, but the situation remains unstable.
The Israeli military announced on Thursday that its soldiers fired toward armed individuals in southern Gaza, including Rafah.

A Palestinian media organization is reporting that an Israeli attack killed two people in Rafah.
