The Philippines' president is coming under criticism for using a government helicopter to attend a music concert. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reportedly took the measure last Friday to avoid getting stuck in traffic. It involved Marcos and his entourage including his wife who traveled to see the British band Coldplay perform at an arena north of Manila. People on social media are criticizing the use of the presidential helicopter. They're calling it an abuse of power and misuse of government resources. The venue is more than 30 kilometers from his official residence. The head of presidential security said in a statement that use of the helicopter was justified as the traffic situation posed a potential security threat. An estimated 40,000 people showed up to see the show resulting in unforeseen traffic complications around the venue.
