Ukraine claims more than 260 combat engagements were confirmed on the front lines on Saturday alone, amid the country's ongoing conflict with Russia.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said a total of 261 combat engagements with Russian forces were recorded on the day.

It says Russian troops are intensifying their attacks in eastern Ukraine.

DeepState, a Ukrainian organization that analyzes the combat situation in Ukraine, said, "Today was the hardest day on the battlefield in 2025." It added that this marks the largest daily number this year.

The organization also said Pokrovsk, a key logistics hub in the eastern state of Donetsk, was among the main targets of the Russian attacks.

The administration of US President Donald Trump is making active moves toward negotiating a truce. It has been reported that the US will soon hold talks with Russia.

Reuters news agency cited a NATO official as predicting that Moscow would increase the pace and intensity of its assaults with talks to end the war approaching.
