Typhoon Kajiki leaves three dead in Vietnam NHK

Typhoon Kajiki has left a trail of death and destruction in northern and central Vietnam. Authorities said on Tuesday that at least three people had been killed and 13 injured.



Motorists navigated the flooded streets of the capital, Hanoi, on Tuesday. The storm blew away billboards and roofs, and knocked down power poles and trees.



Kajiki damaged more than 6,800 homes and inundated nearly 30,000 hectares of rice fields.



Over 44,000 people in its path had to be evacuated.



Weather officials said on Tuesday morning that Kajiki had weakened to a tropical depression as it moved into central Laos. Heavy rains are expected to continue throughout the region.
