Macron to hold separate talks with Trump, Zelenskyy in Paris NHK

France's presidential office says President Emmanuel Macron will meet separately with US President-elect Donald Trump and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris ahead of the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral.

Trump and Zelenskyy are scheduled to attend the ceremony in the French capital on Saturday along with other dignitaries. The cathedral suffered devastating damage from a massive fire five years ago and has since been restored.

AFP news agency and other media outlets quoted a senior Ukrainian official as saying that Trump and Zelenskyy could meet for talks.

Trump has vowed to bring about a negotiated end to the war between Russia and Ukraine. He talked with Zelenskyy in New York in September before he won the presidential election.

All eyes are on whether the two leaders will hold talks again before Trump returns to the White House in January next year.
