Israel says it has deported Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and other activists who were detained while taking part in a flotilla seeking to deliver aid to Gaza.
Israel's foreign ministry announced in a social media post on Monday that the 171 activists, including Thunberg, had been sent to Greece and Slovakia.
The ministry also released photos and said that they showed "Greta and other participants in this PR stunt at the airport before being deported."
The group running the flotilla posted the same photos on social media, writing "These heroes stood for Gaza -- and the world is watching."
The Reuters news agency on Saturday quoted some of the deported activists as saying that Thunberg was mistreated during her detention.
The Israeli foreign ministry denied the allegations, saying the claims are "brazen lies." It said that the legal rights of all the detainees were fully upheld.
Israeli authorities also prevented Thunberg from reaching Gaza by boat in June. She was taken to Israel and then deported.
