Japan's government is arranging another flight by a Self-Defense Force aircraft to bring Japanese nationals home from Israel as the military there steps up its attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Previously, on October 20 Japan time, an SDF aircraft evacuated 83 Japanese and South Korean citizens from Israel to bring them to Tokyo.

The government is preparing to send another SDF plane to help more Japanese nationals evacuate from Israel, as the situation there remains tense and plans for direct commercial flights to Japan are unclear.

Sources say Japan's Foreign Ministry is currently establishing who wants to leave Israel.

An SDF aircraft standing by in neighboring Jordan will fly to Israel as soon as plans are made with the Israeli side, possibly later this week.
