US President Donald Trump helped arrange a ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia in October. However, forces from the two sides launched another round of deadly border attacks this week. Trump says they have now agreed to "go back" to the original ceasefire deal.
Trump issued a post on his Truth Social on Friday, following phone talks with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.
He said, "They have agreed to CEASE all shooting effective this evening, and go back to the original Peace Accord made with me, and them, with the help of the Great Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim."
Since Monday, Thai and Cambodian forces have been exchanging fire along the disputed border. The fighting has killed at least 21 people, and more than 500,000 have been forced to evacuate.
