North Korea says the Supreme People&#039;s Assembly will be convened on January 22 to discuss revising some provisions of the Constitution, among other issues.
                
Friday&#039;s edition of the Rodong Sinmun, the ruling Workers&#039; Party newspaper, reported that the meeting will also discuss the country&#039;s tasks for 2025, its budgets and personnel matters, among other topics.
                
North Korea convenes the Supreme People&#039;s Assembly once or twice a year, most recently in October.
                
In the January session, leader Kim Jong Un called for the Constitution to be revised to define South Korea as the &quot;No.1 hostile nation.&quot; He also urged the deletion of some expressions, such as &quot;peaceful unification.&quot;
                
But North Korea has not announced any specific details of the revisions.
                
Attention is focused on how the Constitution may be changed in the upcoming session to reflect the leadership&#039;s stance on South Korea.
                
South Korea has been in turmoil since President Yoon Suk-yeol declared emergency martial law on Tuesday night. The decision was reversed hours later.
