Japan's health ministry says it confirmed 13,646 new cases of the coronavirus in Tokyo on Sunday, up 1,483 from a week ago. The daily tally has marked a week-on-week increase for 13 straight days. The ministry also reported 15 deaths in the capital. The number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines was 32, down one from Saturday. Nationwide, 136,237 new infections and 232 deaths were confirmed on Sunday.
